In 2021, he founded Payla, a fully white-labeled Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) solution provider serving European payment service providers and financial institutions.
Previously, in 2018, Roberto founded Risk42 Software, a platform specializing in consumer credit and risk scoring for enterprise clients in e-commerce and financial services. The company was acquired by the Unzer Group in 2020.
From 2012 to 2018, he was the founder and managing director of Risk Ident, a fraud prevention software company delivering advanced solutions to major enterprises across e-commerce, telecommunications, and financial services. Under his leadership, the company secured high-profile clients including Otto Group, Vodafone, and Deutsche Telekom.
Earlier in his career, Roberto spent over a decade founding and scaling web-based software ventures. His focus was on building teams and products, achieving product-market fit, and implementing scalable sales structures. He also worked as an investment manager at a family-owned industrial holding company. His background combines business administration with hands-on experience in software development.
In recent years, Roberto has been an active contributor to the online payments and risk management ecosystem. He has published insights on emerging fraud prevention technologies and served on the European Advisory Board of the Merchant Risk Council.
Roberto resides in Munich, Germany with his wife and thirteen-year-old son. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.
