Roberto is an experienced entrepreneur who builds software startups from the first product idea into scalable and sales-oriented product companies.
In 2021 he founded Payla, a true white-label "buy now, pay later" solution provider for European Payment Service companies and financial institutions.
In 2018 he founded Risk42 Software, a software company offering a consumer credit & risk scoring platform to enterprise customers within e-commerce and financial services. The business was sold to Unzer Group in 2020.
From 2012 to 2018 he founded and headed Risk Ident, a software company building sophisticated fraud prevention products for enterprise customers within e-commerce, telecommunications and financial services. The company was very successful in signing up Tier-1 customers like Otto Group, Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom and others.
Before, Roberto spent 11 years setting up different web software startups. Key responsibilities were building the teams and the products, making sure they reach market fit and to implement scalable sales structures. He also worked for a family-owned industrial holding company as an investment manager. His background is business administration and programming.
For the last years, he has played an active role within the online payment and risk management industry and provided numerous publications regarding new tools and methods used within the fraud prevention space. He was part of the European Advisory Board at the Merchant Risk Council.
Roberto lives in Munich, Germany. He is married and has a twelve year old son. He spends his spare time with the family and travelling.
